I'm sorta confined to the house trying to get well and so little projects have been popping up for me to do. I decided to clean the bookshelves in my bedroom and get rid of books I've read, have no intention of reading or that are hopelessly out of date. Like the 1990 B & B Guide for the USA. I have cleaned all the drawers in the bathroom, kitchen and in the sideboard in the dining room. I've gone through old magazines and old recipes that I'll never cook. It's all going!
There is a second impetus for this cleaning frenzy. I've got company coming in March. A "Man".
Yes, my internet dating possibly has come to fruition. We'll see. I'm all atwitter. I even considered painting the bathroom and then stopped myself dead in my tracks when I remembered the story of the Senora who painted her whole apartment when a new beau was coming to visit..............It worked - they are happily married.
I'm not going into any details about "the man" - don't want to jinx it BUT, if all works out, I'll be shouting it from the rooftops. So, keep your fingers crossed, say a prayer, make an offering to the gods - I probably need all the help I can get!
HOPE springs eternal.

Hi, Babs - I did get your message, so sorry you're not able to be there, especially that the bug isn't vanquished. But at least you'll be recuperating in clean and shiny surroundings.
Is cleaning the same thing as resting? Just asking.
Hope all turns out well in Beauland.
Steve has a good point. Something tells me you will need all your strength soon!
Well, Teresa, it's worth a try! And First Mate - glad you got my message. Sorry we won't connect in Barra but stay tuned for "future" news - we might be connecting where you least expect
it!
And Steve - well, I guess it depends on how MUCH you clean....ha.Thanks for the good thoughts and Wayne - one can only hope!
Have fun cleaning and good luck on the man front.
Paint everything. Buy new furniture. It works! Don´t make meatloaf.
Aren't there any available men in San Miguel? Just curious.
I read and understand there are a lot of gringos as well as Mexican men! I would think you would have the pick of the cream!!! What is wrong with them, are they blind...
Before hooking up with a Mexican man, I would recommend the Lovely Babs to simply put a pistol in her mouth. And fire!
In other words: best avoided. As most Mexican women will tell you.
Regarding Gringos in SMA, if I´m not mistaken, women outnumber them by far. And many are gay anyway, dulling Babs´ many charms.
Michael, I promise NO meatloaf.
In San Miguel there are supposedly 10 women to every man.....and there is the saying about the men here - "They're gay, married or leaving on Tuesday"......not sure if that's true...but it doesn't leave much choice.
There may be 10 women for every man in SMA maybe more - but they aren't Babs - of this I am sure.
Wear a leopard-print blouse.
Gosh Calypso and Michael - ya'll are so good to me. Michael, don't worry, the "Man" is from the USA.
Babs' charms are not lost on the gay community. We are free to enjoy her for what she is...a charming, witty, gracious and caring person...without getting hung up on the other issues.
Is this a Valentine's present? I'm impressed...can't remember Cupid ever being so generous as to deliver to one's doorstep but what does this old married fart know anyway. If cleaning and painting are what it takes, go for it. Have fun but for heaven's sake, get well.
"...without getting hung up on the other issues."
I love those other issues!
Kay - You're not a fart, you're a fartess! Ha.
And Calypso, you almost alwaYs make me laugh out loud....I like the other issues too....
