Staying in Touch

I arrived at 10:30 yesterday morning and it has been nonstop since.............we headed directly for the elementary school and lunch with Grandchild #4, then helped serve lunch ( I doled out dressing) to 100's of kids (think Lucy and Ethel in the candy assembly line) pretty darn funny. Then had lunch with Grandkids #2 and #3 who were also celebrating their 11th birthdays that day. We got back to the house and finished decorating around the nonheated pool for the Sponge Bob Square Pants Party. I made the foolish mistake of asking how many kids were coming to this party and was slightly alarmed when the mother of my grandchildren admitted she had no idea - maybe 30 she said!!!! I THOUGHT she was kidding...........there were waaaay more...all 5th graders, girls and boys, oy vey! It was like inviting a herd of locusts. I've never seen so much food consumed in two hours. TRULY About an hour and a half into it, I disappeard upstairs, barracaded the door and turned on the TV - enough already. Have you ever heard how LOUD 5th grade girls can squeal???
Today the day began with my #1 granddaughter driving me to Kroger's in her brand new birthday present. There were more people in this Kroger's then the whole town of San Miguel - all in a frenzy and frantically looking for "something". I got my stuff and got the heck out of there. Oh, did I mention that Grandkids 2,3, and 4 were with us? TRY keeping all that together.
Did I mention also that I'm sitting on the edge of the sofa with my daughter's laptop while listening to the upteenth rendition of some Disney Fox song? What ever happened to Bambi?

I'm having a GREAT time and wouldn't change one minute of it!

Barbara, I love this report. It sounds so much like our visits with the kids. Overwhelmingly fun and noisy. LOve it, love it. But oh so thankful when we get back to SMA.

Gosh - sounds like the life I have escaped for our 1 little year in MX.

Currently, there are vactioners next door from CA. They have kids 8 and 6 like ours. All 4 played this afternoon. Had a great time.

THEN - the 8 year old ask if we can have a "play date" tomorrow - not a term we have used since June ...
