I've noticed in the last few months that I don't like what I see in the 5x magnifying mirror in the mornings. It is disconcerting, to put it mildly.
WHO is that person?
Well, now, with a band aid strapped on my face between my nose and lips - kinda a band aid mustache, I'm avoiding this thing until this latest episode is over.
The dermatologist told me it would fade eventually. Really? Let's hope.
There are five stitches. I probably will be heading to Houston looking like the "Band aid Bandito".
I'm trying diligently to find the humor in this latest saga.
Today while having the sale of stuff, I acted like there was nothing wrong as people did a double take as they came in the garden.
A thing of beauty? Not.
I tried a Sponge Bob Square Pants band aid but THAT was not even funny.
The magnifying mirror has been banished until the purple, yellow, stitched space has faded. At least somewhat.
No photos were made for this post of me. Did you notice?

I will match your scar with the one on my forehead...damn that sunshine that we love so much. I see the doc next week for checkup.
You would look great no matter what. You could try writing "You lookin' at me?" on it, but I guess that would be too De Niro.
Babs - Your inner beauty gets brighter and more lovely everyday. I am sure in a few months your small marking will be a memory and little else.
Kay, if it were on my forehead, my bangs would hide it........but, no, it's right there like a headlight, ha.
Steve, I tried the Sponge Bob bandaid, but that was MORE in your face!
Aww, Calypso, you have such a way with words. Thanks so much.
IMHO People notice something like that, think about it for a nano- second, and then their attention turns back to themselves and their immediate concerns. You may have told yourself that your physical beauty was what drew people to you. That was a delusion. The truth is what Calypso said-- and always has been.
I'm not sure what you are dealing with but, it sounds like it was a necessity to take care of the issue. Although you and I have yet to meet, I have to agree with Calypso. Southern women, and especially those from East of the Brazos, totally know how to play this card you've been dealt. Bravo, Beauty!
Geez Christine, you nearly brought tears to my eyes! Thanks so much.
Calypso is a dear man and friend - although we have never met!
Yup, Benne', I have been told many times that I definitely know how to play my cards but more importantly, I know when to fold too.....ha.
Too bad we're so far apart......Heaven knows when I'll return to the Yucatan. The last time it was a 35 year span.....
