The "Plan" for the Day

I had made a list of things to do today. It read like this. Find photos of roof coverings (my tenant wants a cover on his roof terrace similar to mine) Clean out and organize bodega (a mess similar to any storage place you have). Go to garage sales. Buy hanging basket to replace one that has died.

Instead, this is what has happened. There was NO wind when I got up. It was not cold in the house. "Aha", I said to myself, "Go to the roof with your coffee". I did. It was so beautiful, warm and sunny that I stayed up there to finish my coffee. THEN I scurried down. Now it's only about 10AM, put on my shorts and a tank top and went back up to lounge in the sun on this chaise. As I raised up at one point, I saw the red bird and got a photo of it.

Thats been my day so far and it's only noon. I've come in to get the book, The Shadow of the Wind, to reread and the heck with that list. There is always manana.

Hope your morning has been equally delightful.

Well...between your lazy morning in the sun with coffee on the roof and Sr. Felipe's homemade chocolate chip cookies...I don't think life gets any better..unless of course you two lived closer and could share your coffee and cookies. However, it sounds like he's a bit selfish in that regard! Enjoy the rest of your Saturday....the list will always be there.

Not a bad start to your day at all! Those little red birds are known as "Pajaritos de la suerte". It is believed that the first person to spot the red bird will have good luck all day long.

Gosh Charles - Choc chip and coffee - how sinful - sinfully delicious. I might have to make some...yummmmm...
And Leslie - what a lovely thing to know. I'm wondering if they are vermillion flycatchers but I sure know not much about birds.....I LOVE the sound of pajaritos de la suerte much better. Gracias!

Same kind of day here in Xico - but alas I am weed eating and mowing - the sun feels good, work or play ;-)

Kay, this is my second read of this book. One of my two favorite books of all time. The sentence structure and descriptions are lilting and beautiful.....
Thanks Billie - glad you approve.
Calypso - we're alike in that any time we can be outside in the sun is a good time!
