Plebian Ears

One of the reasons I drove to the border this week was to get a new CD player to replace the one that was at least 20 years old. I wanted a 5 CD changer and ended up with a 3CD changer for the grand sum of $50US with gigantic speakers. Such a deal! Found it at the Sony outlet store. I'm thrilled.

I also bought a Memorex Boombox to play up on the roof. A one CD player with radio. It was $22.
I decided to plug it in and see how bad it would sound. I'm here to tell you that I've been playing that at full force on this rainy, chilly afternoon and evening. It sounds GREAT. I've had the Eagles, Diana Krall and a few others going. My Plebian ears can't tell the difference between this and the high falutin stuff that others, who know way more then I, spend big bucks on.

It takes soooooooo little to make me happy.

Babs, Now that you have a viable sound system , see if you can find a Katherine Jenkins album to relax to. To hear what she sounds like, see if you can find her video "L'Amore Sei Tu (I Will Always Love You)- an Italian version of the Dolly Parton/Whitney Houston hit - Fab! on You-tube - - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SoFEzj2ocB0.. Cheers!

Dan - Thanks so much for telling me about Katherine Jenkins. I was not familiar with her. Beautiful. I now want a black dress and red petticoats........

Are you trying to start another fight between Felipe, Calypso, and me? We are ready to defend our respective honors.

Babs, it's not nice to tease - you'll be given the aulde fellas palpitations tinking aboot yer petticoats! & Steve you forfeited your rights to wear the petticoats when ya passed on house #1 - they would have matched nicely (LOL!)
Cheers!

Good music sounds good on anything that works (plays) - but of course it can be better on some players than others.

Babs if you are feliz then the rest matters not.

Steve, anything for a little drama!
And Dan, whatever it takes to get their blood pressure up....if it's a red petticoat, so be it. I won't even mention her other attributes, besides her beautiful voice!
And Calypso, I've now decided that this little boom box isn't so great. It's just better then the old cheap 23 year old other speakers......I took the new CD changer out of the box, looked at all that is required to hook it up and I might be listening to the boombox until I have the nerve to try to hook the other thing up. Geez.........why do they have to make things so complicated?

Glad you got yourself some good music. I don't have particular ears either. I'm currently in love with Los Texmaniacs' Borders y Bailes. I'm polkaing around the house between strikes on canvas with a paint brush...great conjunto tejano music.

Oh wow, that Katherine Jenkins has a beautiful voice. As for the red petticoat, I'd trade it for her tiny waist.
And Babs, next thing we know you will be running to the border to get an MP3 player to take to the gym. It's on my "what I want for Christmas" list.

So we hombres can prove our worth (often not an easy task).

I wish I was there to help amiga.

I'm with you Babs. I am just plain grateful that I have some way to listen to my music. I even like my little iPod speakers so I can listen to music while ironing! And no, I don't do petticoats!
