The feral cat "Velcro" who has become my best buddy in a short period of time continues to bring me "presents"..........lizards, field mice, lizards, field mice. Almost always they are no longer living.......but when they are there is a "dance" of me trying to get her to return outside with them IN her mouth and my trying to NOT get near them...........YUK!
I must confess though the other day she did DROP the "deceased" lizard (BIG) under the dining room table and I actually picked it up by its dead tail and slung it into the garden.........DOUBLE YUK!. I might have to increase my blood pressure medicine if this keeps up.......
Ok, dear readers, how do I let her know that "presents" aren't necessary?

My system for getting live mice out of the house when my cat "Pest-O" brings them in is this. I put a shoe on its side near where the mouse is cowering. Then I grab the cat and lock him up. The mouse always heads for the shoe as it looks like a safe den. Then I pick up the shoe and dump the mouse outside. Works like a charm. Christine
Oh God, I remember waking up to a very proud Rorschach on our bed gifting us with a flapping bird in his mouth. Quite unnerving. I'm not sure why he finally stopped gifting us but he finally did. Maybe my screaming response had something to do with it. I just remember how proud he seemed to be about his catch.
Thanks for the commiseration and suggestions........I'll try your tactic next time Christine! Would never have thought of that.........
