surrounded by a nature sanctuary.
This one bedroom, one bath, two story house with a roof terrace is a one of a kind, light filled
home. Windows across the whole front of the first floor bring in views of the gardens filled with flowers and trees.
The windows on the second floor give you views of the canyon and mountains. The 360 degree views from the roof terrace are sweeping of the Botanical Gardens, the canyon and the mountains along with some views of outlying housing areas.
It is located in quiet Col. Azteca which is up Cuesta de San Jose and below Balcones. No barking dogs, a dead end street and only the sound of birds singing most of the time awaits you. It is a five
minute walk to the mercado for vegetables and fruit. It is a ten minute walk from the house to the main jardin in centro.
As you enter this free standing home, an open concept first floor greets you with a living room,
dining room and kitchen. The sofa is a suede covered, high end sofa with a queen bed usable for
company. Comfortable seating for watching TV or reading are provided as well. Lots of storage in the TV unit, the pantry and in other pieces of furniture.
The kitchen is outfitted with all that you would need from a microwave to coffee pot to large toaster
oven and of course, stove and refrigerator. All utensils along with pots and pans and dishes are provided.
Notice even the windows behind the shelving for dishes. The afternoon sun streams in and is lovely.
View of the first floor leading to the second floor which has the bedroom and bath. The bedroom is
16 ft x 20 ft. A very large size for a bedroom which leaves it up to you how to use all that space.
More then ample closet space (two closets) and furniture storage for everything. The French doors open to a balcony with seating for either morning coffee, reading or just enjoying the sunshine and
nature.
Towels and bedding are provided as well to make your stay a perfect experience. All you need to
bring are your clothes and personal items. The bed is a queen size bed.
Views from the roof terrace of large trees on the property along with the views of the distance.
A unique feature is that you are not looking out on other houses in close proximity.
This photo is looking down into the courtyard and seating that is available there.
A view toward the Botanical Gardens...............

Having searched for rentals three years (yes, three years!) prior to arriving in San Miguel I can say without a doubt Casa Tranquila is one of the, if not THE, most beautifully appointed, most centrally located, and best deals to be found. Had I not needed unfurnished I would've snapped this casa up in a heartbeat, and prayed it be my "forever home".
The icing on the cake would have been having you as landlady and neighbor!
Someone's going to get a prize...
Having lived in the main house for three months we can attest that this casita is a gem, and the grounds are lush and beautiful.
I agree, it is a lovely house. We rented Bab's main house for three months two years ago but spent a lot of time in the casita with the renter at the time both enjoying many dinners and Downton Abbey on the big screen. Those round chairs on the roof deck are so comfy you can while away hours just looking at the view.
Thanks Barbara, Shelagh and Peter for your testimonials. I so loved having you and Peter in my house, Shelagh. And, Barbara, I would have loved having you here as your
"forever" home!
I'm sure the casita is as lovely as Babs. If only our timing was better. Maybe it will be available in six months. See you in May. Saludos,
Robert & Colleen
It would be nice Robert..........I'm hoping to have a tenant in there by March 1!
The house is a great place to live......
So beautiful. I wish I could. But I am sure you won't be waiting long.
Scott, it would be nice to have a friend across the gardens! Several people looking at it today. Hopefully one of them will work out.. Glad you like it!
