My "Get Up and Go" got up and went!

Actually, I'm usually a high energy person.  However, as the title says, I'm not there yet!  Friends had said that after two days I wouldn't know that I had had surgery.  That has not been my case, although I am healing and feeling much better then I did a week ago.

From Friday til yesterday, I had had a bunch of things to do.  Whew!  I'm glad the day of travel on Tuesday is over.  It was a comedy of errors that caused a bit of consternation from the shuttle ride to Houston Intercontinental to arriving home.  Thank you BajioGo Shuttle for being there in Leon at the end of the trip and delivering me to my door after twelve hours of travel.  I was a whipped puppy by then..........

The photo above is a vase of irises and tulips that my dear friend Martha had sitting on the dresser for me to see when I came home from the hospital on the 17th.  Lovely.  Each day they were a treat to see.

I'm home in San Miguel enjoying the soft, warm breezes.  In addition, the azure blue skies along with the spectacular sunset last night were all gratefully appreciated.

I KNOW my "get up and go" will return in a few more days.  The doctor said to give it two to three weeks!
I was amazed and relieved to know that not being well in two days was not expected.  San Miguel is a great place to recuperate.  Especially now that it is warm and everything is blooming.

I want to get out and work in the garden, but it will be another week before I do that, I think.  For once I'm trying to be sensible.  Well, I've been sensible a few more times.........

So that's about it from South of the Border, here in the mountains of Mexico, where I wait with impatience to have my "get up and go" back!

A long day of travel is enough in itself to sap one's "get up and go", not to mention recuperating from surgery. Just take it easy for a while, and enjoy the warm weather. Unfortunately, here in Ohio, that Arctic air has pushed in again. It's hard to believe that spring is less than a month away.
Take care.
Saludos,
Bill

Bill, after looking at your photos of your magnificent garden, I find it hard to believe that anything comes back after a winter like this one! I was thrilled to see your day lilies and other choices. I can't wait to see your photos later this spring!
Thanks for commenting.....

Barbara,

I'm glad you're home and recuperating. I know pretty much how you feel. I'm better too, but if I walk around too much, I start to notice it. Fortunately, that "freshly-kicked-in-the-stomach" feeling is gone. Monday I see my surgeon for a follow-up. I'm hoping she says I'm fine.

Don't push it. It takes time for stuff inside that you can't see to heal.

Kim, glad you posted. You have been on my mind. I read your blog today on spam. Great writing. I was hoping to see something about your surgery and how you are doing.

I tried going shopping with my granddaughter on Saturday. Whew, that was a mistake!

You are SO right, it just takes time!
Stay in touch and let me know how you're doing. As far as the weather, I think you need to fly down here - it's sunny and in the 80's....to recuperate!

I have often wondered if after a gall bladder removal your diet must change. Are there now things you can no longer eat?

Hope you and Kim will feel better soon!

It will be interesting to see if all my perennials come back in the spring. We have not had temperatures this cold in 20 years, and I can't remember a winter where the cold has been so prolonged. Tonight the temperature is supposed to go down to 3 degrees. Even though I was in Mexico for 6 weeks, after only 2 weeks at home, I am sick of winter!!!

Peter, no restrictions whatsoever! Amazing. In fact, now I don't have to worry about anything according to the doctor.

Bill, I can't imagine living in the cold. I did as a small child and didn't even like it then......
Hope spring comes to your area soon.
In the meantime, San Miguel is FULL of snowbirds! They are usually here til the first of April...

You know I did write a post the day of my surgery basically saying I was OK. It's here: http://gringosuelto.wordpress.com/2014/02/19/thanks-mgh-im-on-the-road-to-recovery/

But I haven't written an update, though I did do the Zacatecas post and then spam post which you saw. I got a kick out of that one, particularly the three commenters who bemoaned their own lack of spam. Made my day! LOL...

If all goes well, I will be heading south soon.

Saludos,

Kim

Kim, I'll go back and read the other posts. It's obvious to me that I'm not operating on all cylinders!

Glad to hear you're home and doing better. I really have to think that long day of travel back to SMA made a wee bit of difference in your get up and go post surgery. I'm also glad to hear you're now being sensible and taking breaks between small activities about home and town. What better place to recuperate! Take care.

Indeed Angelinem - The BEST place to recuperate. Today the only sound here on the top of the hill were the cooing doves and a few birds serenading. Lovely, lovely, warm day.
