There's Never Enough Time.........

"There's never enough time to do all the NOTHING you want."
Bill Watterson, creator, Calvin and Hobbes

I've had this quote on the front of the fridge for several months.  I've wanted to share it with you but something else always seems to crop up.  Here it is.  Do you feel this way sometime?

I find myself feeling this way often.  I've been wanting to sew and create but don't seem to ever have several days in a row when I don't have something I need to do.  It's frustrating.

However, on the other hand, when I do have one day with nothing to do, I find myself doing nothing at all and loving it.

At that time, I take time to watch all the hummingbirds sticking their beaks in the candelabra plant and the bourganvillas.  Anything that has a throat to it that they can get the nectar out of.

Add to the hummingbirds, the butterflies, the birds singing and I become lulled by all the beauty of nature.

I'll take a book up on the roof terrace or on the downstairs patio.  Recline on the chaise with all intentions of reading.  Next thing I know, I've put the book on the table nearby and take a siesta.

Yes, there is seldom enough time of "nothing".

What I find also when there is nothing to do is that I'm the most content.  Being in the garden or cooking some new recipe or whatever, it's so great to not have an agenda.

Enjoying the simple things of life while doing "nothing" is a great way to live, I think.

Can't wait until I have time to do nothing again! That was my principle activity before the move madness started in May. Soon!

The best part of retirement is that question we ask each other in the morning' What are we going to do today?'.

Beck, hang in there, it will soon settle down. When I moved to Mexico, a very wise person said you have the rest of your life to unpack those boxes. Stop rushing.....so I did!

Norm, I hardly even say THAT anymore, I just "go with the flow".
One of the things I love most is not having to get dressed up in business clothes any more. What a gift!
Only another retired person can understand.........

I know exactly what you mean! When I'm asked, what do I do all day, I find it hard to explain, but I never seem to have time to do all the things I want to do. And just relaxing and watching the nature around me is on the top of that list.

off subject. We are visiting in SMA soon. We are looking for tin items-full length mirrors and light fixtures. Any recommendations?

Del, yes. If you call me at 152-8375 I'll share with you a man's name, his shop and the fact that he has all that you are looking for. I used his factory when I was exporting to the USA for hotels and restaurants.

Del, do you have any idea when you'll be heading down to SMA? Are you exporting in bulk or looking for things for yourself?

I can't wait to retire and do "nothing"! I have a huge list of "nothings" that I want to do each day! Sounds lovely.

I totally understand Cheryl. After all doing nothing is doing something! Ha.......
