I Can't Get There........From Here

The photo is actually the seawall and beachfront of Galveston. It was taken almost a month ago and the days have been chockablock full ever since mid October.

I've thought of everyone. I've wanted to blog. But, and this is not an excuse, just a fact - when you're with someone 24/7, time flies. Then the longer you go without blogging the more stressful it feels cause you have so darn much to say and share. Hence, you don't write at all. Add to that that the computer was down for a week and soooooooooo that's it in a nutshell. I just couldn't get there from here............

I had a BLAST at the 50th Reunion in Alexandria, La at Bolton High. GREAT to see old friends and laugh til our sides hurt at the shenanigans that happened lo those many years ago. Like the water tower incident, the drag races, Castor Plunge - well, you get my drift.

Then I did "floor duty" playing with kids on the floor or wherever it was convenient for them. The greatest treasure was that one Sunday ALL of my family, with the exception of granddaughter Jess at A&M, was together. Six of the seven grandkids. My heart was full. I'll share photos in future blogs.

The BIG NEWS and I do mean BIG and SURPRISING is that the Gypsy Kids are heading back to San Miguel to live! I was flabbergasted and elated with this news. To me, having Matilda and Sebastian grow up in this beautiful culture will enrich their lives immeasureably. Plus, of course, more time with all of them will be delightful.

Paul arrived in Houston the end of October and we spent a couple of delightful days at Galveston. Actually not wanting to leave.........but the kids were waiting to see "Mr. Paul". What fun we had hanging out with everyone.......

Back here in San Miguel we've survived the 24 degree morning temps and today it is 83 - yeeeee ha. But, that doesn't keep us from looking forward to a month of beach time in January. Pina coladas, here I come.

So, yes, to those who have called or written - I AM ALIVE! And, now that things have settled down a bit and a routine is kinda happening, my goal is to write more..........

I know what you mean about the 24/7 personal issues and then trying to get back to blogging. But I am happy to hear the GK are returning. That will be great for you. Who knows? I may see you up your way in a few months or so.
