I don't know what is going on. I've been in a "clean out" mode for the last week. Maybe it is that I was semi-confined last week with the bruises and stitches. Who knows? But, I started cleaning out papers and "stuff" that I will never use and have no idea why I still have those things.........
I realize it isn't winter yet. But, when it is cloudy, overcast, blustery and cold, my mind says "Winter".
It's a good time for reflection, cleaning out stuff and as the squirrels do, storing nuts for the winter's stillness. In my sorting through papers, I came across many lists of books I wanted to read. I've consolidated all those papers into one list. Quite a diverse group of interests. I think I'll order them, now in paperback, for the cloudy overcast days.
None of them are literary giants but just subjects or writers that I am interested in reading. Here are some of the titles. Confessions of a Failed Southern Lady. 20th Century Mexican Art published by the Naples Florida Museum of Art. Nature Girl by Carl Hiassen (love this author). Yard Art and Handmade Places. Avoiding Prison and Other Noble Vacation Goals. Last, but not least, Surreal Eden about Las Pozas in the Sierra Gorda. There are more, but I don't want to bore you with the entire list.
Reading all those, plus cooking, gardening and creating gifts for the holidays ought to keep me content inside on the cold blustery days.

I don't believe that SMA has any cold blustery days. We escape Michigan from the cold blustery days and head to SMA for the beautiful sky and sunny days.
Sam and Bob - I guess its all relative. It didn't get above 55 in the house one day last week when our low was 35. The addition of central heat would make life perfect in SMA. But, in the meantime, I just leave and go to the beach........
And in January when there are weeks of COLD blustery days, it is miserable. Ask any of the locals. Most of us leave it to the Yankees and Canadians to come stay here. Just kidding...but we DO leave.....
Sounds like a good reading list. Have you read Naked Came the Manatee by Hiaason? I just got that one.
I think a certain amount of cooler weather fills a human need. We seem to be genetically programmed to get into a different mode, enjoy different activities, eat different foods in winter. I wouldn't want my weather always the same.

Sounds like good sport. We have been in a property looking mode - We need more property like a...but still the activity fascinates me.
55 is cold inside. But, if that is fending off 35 outside then OK.
Well not OK - too cold for me and Jonna would surely be in a parka.
It never freezes here in Xico - I think I saw 43 one winter but 45 is the coldest one expects.
In any case stay warm and out of harms way amiga.
"Naked Came the Manatee" sounds intriguing Bliss. Save it for me! We will meet, maybe even THIS year, who knows.....Have you read "Skinny Dip" by Hiaason - good reading too.

Tell Jonna when it is 55 in this house I look like the abominable snowman covered in anything I can find to stay warm. I could fall over and not even hurt myself! Ha.
