Lessons from Velcro

As most of you know, Velcro the Cat used to be feral.......up til two years ago. You would never know it now. I don't know why, but this cat has taught me lots of lessons. Maybe its that I have more time for observation. But the lessons definitely apply to every day life.
Here they are:

IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NAP
IF YOU SIT CLOSE ENOUGH TO SOMEONE THEY'LL PET YOU
IF YOU STAND BY THE DOOR LONG ENOUGH, SOMEONE WILL OPEN IT FOR YOU
IF YOU SIT IN THE SINK LONG ENOUGH, SOMEONE WILL GIVE YOU WATER
IF YOU DON'T WANT TO SIT IN SOMEONE'S LAP, DON'T
IT'S OK TO BE WILD. JUST LOOK AT THE GOODIES YOU GET TO BRING HOME
YOU CAN SLEEP ANYWHERE
BEING QUIET IS A GOOD THING. IT'S NOT ABOUT WHAT YOU SAY BUT HOW YOU ACT
IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP CLOSE, WAIT TIL THEY'RE ASLEEP AND THEN SNUGGLE UP TO THEIR BACK
IF YOU START OUT LAYING IN A SMALL BALL ON THE CHAISE AND THEN CONTINUE TO STRETCH OUT, YOU CAN HAVE THE WHOLE CHAISE EVENTUALLY
MILK IS THE ESSENCE OF LIFE, ALONG WITH ALL THE GOODIES YOU BRING HOME
IT'S ALL ABOUT THE NAP

And to think I didn't want another pet. I would have missed out on all these life lessons. Thanks Velcro.

I cherish my gifts from God every day, especially my pets. You have to ponder of meaning of what joy they bring to you. As one of my little lap dogs is laying on my lap with his nose jammed between my left forearm and my arm pit as I write this. They as you say teach many lessons to people that are wise enough to accept the lessons.

Well said Constantino -

It appears that Velcro has taken both Babs' and Steve's blogs about the rewards of "doing nothing" to heart - a great role model for those of us who haven't yet perfected the art -

Wooden bowl of furry goodness served
on a bed of luscious color. Delicious!

Well said. Cats also teach us tolerance. Lots of tolerance!

I was doing some research on making home made cat food the other day. Amazingly, among the food items one should NOT feed a cat is milk. New one on me.

Now, Babs, did you come up with that list all by yourself? Because if you did, I have to give you an A+. Or, as they do in Mexico, a 10.

Constantino pets are cool. I didn't want another one and I'm still not sure Velcro qualifies as a "pet". She just sorta drops by from time to time.
Tina - Sorta a haiku.
Wayne - If you saw the other stuff she eats, milk couldn't possibly harm her......I only started a few eeks ago and now she circles and prances for milk.
Yup I did. It's all about the observation.....and it was fun. An A+ is good. The list came quick.
