Just when you think you've seen it all!

I'm sitting in the jardin on Friday (one of the two days of the week that I am there) and up walks this character. Now I've seen him before, but I thought there was a play going on or Guanajuato sent him over or something. But noooooooo, he's here frequently I'm told.
Perhaps for no other reason then to charge for a photo with pretty girls. Who knows?

He was approached by this young lady and her friend. He gladly stood with each for a photo. What they are saying to each other, I have no idea. Maybe, "Hey where did you get that great hat?" Or "How do you get that mustache to curl like that?" Or many other possible earth shattering questions.............the mind reels with thoughts.
If only Richard of "The Gangs of San Miguel" blog were here. He would go bonkers. He would have to come up with a whole new category. Geez, Knights of the Templar or some darn thing. Maybe this guy sold windmills in his previous life. Who knows?

But I LOVE the photo I took above. The shoe shine man is looking at him as though he doesn't believe what he is seeing. We didn't either. "Senor Breastplate" didn't stick around long. Very few tourists. He needed to go home and shine his sword....chuckle, chuckle.

I wonder how successful or profitable his propina slot is? SM is a place all of it's own.....

It´s guys like that who give Steve Cotton the notion that SMA is not for him, that it´s just full of crackpots.

The shoeshine guy is thinking: ¡Otro Gringo loco!

Doubtful that he could pay his rent, Constantino or probbly buy many cervesas.
Felipe, what"s wrong with "crackpots" I relish being called a "crackpot" - at least then I know I'm NOT boring....ha.
BTW, what is with the hand anyway? Is it designating "talk to the hand"?

He's just a harmless old man wishing he could be tilting at windmills...

Well that sort of took my breath away.

There is odd, then there is really odd and when you throw in tips it is even muy odder.

I do have a theory that many retired people have trouble filling the days. I have another theory that brains get deprived of oxygen at high altitudes.

I hope he came by bus.

So true John. Although he didn't seem "old" to me.....
And Richard, you just crack me up. I have a photo of two old dudes sitting on the bench....I'm so tempted to post it or should I save it til you get back here?
