Black Clouds Coming

Monday evening when Hurricane Jimena was due west of us, we were getting rain bands and dark clouds over and over. This thunderhead was coming.............and fast. I don't think I stood at the window in the living room for even five minutes taking the first two photos.

One of the things I love living on top of the hill are the views that I get of the horizon. From time to time I think about living a block or two from the jardin, and then, something like this happens and I doubt I would ever move............unless it's to the beach a few months out of the year - the winter months. Which I sorta do anyway.
There have been a few black clouds this year, but none were moving as fast as this one - at least not that I could tell at the time..........

And then, things lighten up, the storm clouds pass, and, as it is today, we have bright blue skies.

Viva San Miguel. Viva Mexico!

You mean the bottom two photos, my dear. Remember that the photos show up from bottom to top.

In any event, good photos.

So dramatic! Hope you're saving the larger versions, they're good art.

Babs,
My husband and I are on the brink of retiring to your beautiful SMA. Our entire family is completely smitten with it. We always rent houses when we visit, but it now seems that it is time to buy our own. After all, life is too short to live in Houston.
And, yes, while a Centro location is total immersion, a hillside perch is visually stunning.
After being assaulted this morning by the local media on the dangers of Mexico, I thought your "Black Clouds Coming" was about drug cartels! Maddeningly, America is NOT committed to waging a "war on drugs"...far from it. It would seem that there are no enlightened, ethical lawmakers/adults in charge of this issue. Sorry for the rant, but this aging liberal seems to forever be in a frustrated, gnashing-of-teeth mode.
Thank you for your soothing glimpses of a much-envied lifestyle........

Yes Steve, we've had a LOT of rain, but not enough. It rained for 4 or 5 days.
Felipe, I sent you a long email this morning but it came back saying you don't have a YAHOO acct. darn. and it was a funny email too.
1st mate - I've reached critical mass as far as art and folkart goes. No more room in the casa.
Sharon - YOUR name is very very familiar to me. I think I knew you in Houston. I was there 34 years. You'll enjoy San Miguel and its not that far to drive back to Houston when you need a Texas fix - which you will from time to time. Welcome.
Anon- you're so right - we still need more rain but I hope it holds off til the roof terrace is done. Selfish of me, I know.

Sure, I have a yahoo account. God knows why you got that response. You can always use the email button on my blog profile. That goes to another email address of mine.

Certain, I've the google accounts. Lord understands the reason why you have which reaction. You are able to usually make use of the e-mail switch upon my personal weblog user profile. Which would go to an additional current email address associated with my own.
