Day 4 - Somber Beauty

The views from Fort Collins to Albuquerque were NOT as picturesque as Montana and Wyoming, to put it mildly. It was 400 miles of straight road. Very straight. It got to be a joke. Oh my gosh, grab the camera, look at how straight the road is. I have about twenty-five photos just like the one above and below.
It got to the point that we were noticing if the color of the road changed. Hence the photo above with a black road.
And then there was the half and half road. The excitement was trying to outrun the oncoming rain storm. We didn't. But it wasn't as bad as those gully washers in Texas that cause you to pull over and surrrender.
THIS was the plant life we saw. Not much. Scrub bushes I call them. Who knows what they really were? I don't really care. I was hankering for the oak trees of Texas by this time.

We did make it to Albuquerque and plans for Day 5 were to make it to Fort Stockton, Texas. Blessed be Texas. I could hardly wait. Little did I know that the terrain south of Albuquerque is more desolate. Watch tomorrow for more scintillating photos...........of almost nothing. Ha.

Well, with those straight (boring) highways I'll bet you and Mr. TM had lots to talk about. Isn't that part of the fun of a long road trip? So glad you made it home safe & sound! Robin

Ah Charley, thank you. SHE is beautiful, isn't she? And Robin, yes, we did do quite a bit of talking. I'll blog about what was going on in the car in future blogs........
I'm SO glad to be home.

Babs did you go through Capitan, NM ? It is a blink and you miss it charming little pueblo on 380 before you get to Roswell. We could have met up!

Okay, enough already with baby pictures and photos of lonesome highways. What people really want to know about is you and the latest candidate. We´ve seen a couple of photos of him already. Does he ever smile? Will he be living in the big house or renting the casita?

These are the pressing issues, my dear.

Yeah, I'm with him, Felipe him that is.

Yup, I third the motion of Felipe and Ruco...

Take a deep breath and let us know what's happening...be brave.

Doesn't matter if it changes and you decide not to continue on the path together at some future point in time..

Such is life!

We love and support you...

Well, yes he smiles - "the candidate" and he is renting the casita - not living with me.

We have already decided not to go on the "path together" due to "pressing issues".

The rest I'll leave to your imaginations.

A well-phrased response. Romance ain´t easy. Good to have someone paying rent, however. Money is always sweet.
