Sadly no photos to share - although I have asked but it seems that John, Lisa, Matilda and Dusty have been busy setting up housekeeping in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
They love the town, the people they've met, and they love all the outdoor activities including the hiking and biking.
Matilda is "known" on the trails, it appears, according to Lisa. People hiking have heard about her in her papoose and holler, "Hi Matilda". It just makes them all laugh. I could hear her in the background on the phone the other evening. Her first word, "Mama" being repeated over and over. What joy for John and Lisa.
John is interviewing with companies in Ft. Collins and other places in the Northwest but if they can stay where they are they would be REALLY happy, they say.
So, of course, I've been checking airfares from Leon to Denver and gritting my teeth, not at the cost of the airfare, because I can fly roundtrip for $525, but the thought of going when the weather is COLD!
It has to be true love for me to go in the winter.............

Colorado? How can the Matilda Toes splash in the warm ocean while living in the Rockies?
Well, I DO hope to entice them back to Melaque, somehow in January!........we'll see!
The company I work for has its headquarters in Denver. Whenever I have to go there for meetings or training I get a nose bleed within 48 hours from the altitude and the dry air. Most of the people I talk to who live in the area brag about the great weather and high % of days a year with sunshine. However I have been in Denver on Labor Day when it snowed and the next day it was in the 80s. My sinuses can’t take that kind of drastic weather shifts.
Possibly you could get son to go to work for the airlines. My daughter works for Southwest Airlines and her parents can fly free on standby. What a great perk and gift to her ole Mom.
Oh Gin, if ONLY they would do that!
