Snow birds and Sweat birds

Yup, the snowbirds are here! You can spot 'em in the jardine in their short sleeves and/or bermuda shorts while the rest of us are in four layers of clothes. It is so funny to walk up to someone in bermuda shorts and say, "So where are you from in Canada?" and they surprisedly say, "How did you know?" DUH.....we don't even have to watch the weather. We know when the weather is getting cold north of the Mason-Dixon Line 'cause the town fills up. So, they are here and will be here til the middle to end of March. Then it is blessedly quiet until the "sweat birds" arrive. That phrase unfortunately did not come from me, but my Mexican hairdresser. When he said it, I nearly fell out of the chair I thought it was so funny. Anyway, the "sweat birds" arrive mid-June til mid-August and these are the raucous birds 'cause most of them are from Texas and boy do Texans love life and like to party! It's a fun time! Only Mexicans like to party more then Texans so life is good.
So now you know, the snow birds and sweat birds flock in and out of San Miguel and life goes on. Ironically, San Miguel is not dependent on the international visitors - that is only 20% of their business. Eighty percent of the tourism in San Miguel is "domestic" or Mexican. Viva the middle class in Mexico!

Nice to see you have got it up and running Barb. It will be fun to follow your musings.

With the dark background you have chosen I would suggest you use white font for your posts. Your latest in red is almost impossible to read on my screen.
