I have ended my relationship and ownership of my gall bladder effective yesterday. It was a good parting of the ways. No problems - no regrets. It's over!
In out-patient clinic at 10AM, surgery at high noon and home with meds by 8PM.
I'm feeling fine.
All is well that ends well............
Just thought I should let you know..........actually someone told me I should let you know!
Onward.

YEH!!
Freaking FAB! Amazing changes in medical technology to allow you to be sitting at a concert right after something that took my mother a couple of weeks or more to recover from in the 50s.. Seems unbelievable , but wonderful! Good thoughts going your way, and to echo Todd, yeh, yeh, yeh!
It IS amazing isn't it? Todd I'll be home the 25th, all well, you, Shannon and I need to get together....
And Dan, let me know when you're heading to SMA.........looking forward to seeing you and your lovely wife again.
Glad that it is done and you are doing well.
We can no longer say, "Babs has a lot of gall"!
I thought of you off and on all day Monday and sent good thoughts. Glad it went well!

Glad to hear that all went well! I remember the day when gall bladder surgery was a very painful procedure. (My father said it hurt more than open heart surgery.) Isn't it wonderful that now it's an easy, out-patient procedure!
Best wishes,
Bill
Thanks for letting us know!
I kicked mine out two years ago, and never looked back! I didn't have the benefit of knowing my surgeon either, so I know that can be a bit disconcerting. I had a third "attack" at 2:00am, so I drove myself to the emergency room. Turns out, it's a "strike three" kind of situation, in that the pancreas can be in danger, so they whisked me off for surgery. I later found out the surgeon on call that Saturday morning was a cosmetic surgeon! He didn't do any extra "nip tuck" while he was in there, but I do have a very dainty little scar. LOL!
Best wishes for your speedy recovery in sunny SMdA, one of my most favorite places!

Thanks all for your comments! it is indeed amazing how prepared the medical community is. I probably met at least 10 people or more who had some reason to do something to me or check on me. The first was named Jennifer and the one who took me into surgery was named Jennifer. It lifted my heart as that was my daughter's name......It had a calming effect on me to say the least! Croft, I'm so happy to no longer have any gall........
So happy that all went well and you seem to be recovering nicely! Now, to get on with life!
Yayyy!!!! And good riddance I say! So glad you had a good outcome! Way to go, Babs!
Glad all is well! A breakup between you and your GB. So who gets custody of the kids?
Calypso, someone asked if I was going to make a necklace from the gallstones and it creeped me out! NO way........hope I never see them again!
Thanks all, I'm touched by all the well wishes.
Wow, that was fast! So glad to hear that it is over and you are well!
Thanks Shannon. It has been fast! Flew in on Tuesday, the 11th - had doc appt on the 13th and surgery on the 17th. Houston is used to international medical care of people flying in, needing care and flying out.....Super service!
