Living in the moment...........on Saturday

Do you ever go to bed at night with plans for the next day that never happen? Yup, that's exactly what happened to me yesterday. I had plans to go to a horse competition because my friend Deb was riding her horse and so were a lot of other friends. There was going to be barrel racing, team sorting (whatever the heck that is) and other things that are irrelevant, because I can't remember them and when I read about them, I didn't know what they were talking about anyway. But, with that said, I was going to go and sit in the arena and watch this whole thing, until I woke up and it was raining, raining, raining.

So, I decided to do stuff around here. The first was to gather all the papers to submit my FM-3 for renewal on Tuesday. Well, that started the proverbial ball rolling. I mean, I realized in going through some files that I had bank statements back to 2004. I went into "clean out mode" like you wouldn't believe. I started with all those files, moved on to the side board where I straightened stuff and THEN decided to clean the shelves in the pantry. Good grief, what got into me?

As if THAT wasn't enough I came downstairs to my ONE closet and ONE step ladder and decided to find some fall clothes since it is now 50 in the mornings and only in the mid 70's during the day......gauzy things don't work in this kind of weather. (The gauzy comment is for RUCO who seems to be enthralled with that word and those kind of clothes, ehh?) Anyway, as I pulled out the fall clothes, I realized how many of them I haven't worn in a couple, if not few, years and so I made a pile to take to ALMA for their charitable garage sale.

I mean, I went at it like a woman possessed. The next thing I knew, I looked at the clock and it was after 5PM. Well, the clothes are all bagged and in the back of the car ready to take to ALMA and the sacks of old papers are in the trash. I love days when at the end of them you have a sense of accomplishment, don't you?

I just don't want to do that EVERY day..........

Glad to hear you did not take a nasty tumble during this process.

Listen, are you going to do the FM3 visa thing the rest of your life? Get the FM2, and five years later (if I am not mistaken) you´ll be eligible to become an immigrant, eliminating annual renewals. It´s the next best thing to being a citizen and, as far as I know, requires no tests or anything. Look into it. Simplify your life.

Babs, when you said "downstairs" and stepladder - I was thinking like Felipe: then you said FALL clothes, and I realised you were just into Spring cleaning mode - not going into accident mode. Thank GOD! You always keep me on the edge of my seat waiting for the other zapata to drop! I love a rainy day especially when you can see before you all the good you have done - without incident! So glad you had a productive day and a nice weekend! Hugs, Robin

Babs, listen to Felipe on this one. Well, I would've told you the same, but he beat me to it.

Felipe and Jennifer - Probably for the rest of my life. I was told the FM-2 limits the time that you can be out of Mexico....and I don't want any limitations - especially for 5 years!
Robin - HOpefully all those ridiculous falls are over with although NOW the eye is yellow and purple - Heck I just realized that is close to LSU's colors - Geaux Tigers!
