BLOG STATS - WHO KNEW?

WHO KNEW IS RIGHT!  Again my son John showed me all kinds of things about the blog that I never knew.  Things like where people came from to read the blog.  How many people read a certain blog.  What operating system, which I didn't even know what that meant, they use.  But the coolest is where the readers live.  Not specifically their address but the country.

I'm flabbergasted.

This little writing that I do, mostly for myself and my family and friends is read all over the place.

Who knew?

The countries obviously are the USA, Canada and Mexico.  Get this.  Also RUSSIA (a lot), UK, France, Germany, Argentina, Netherlands, Australia and Brazil to name a few.

Holy moly.

I have no idea how they find the blog.  I can't imagine why they read the blog.  But I'm absolutely thrilled that they do.

So to all of you out there from those faraway countries, thanks for stopping by.  Wish you would leave a comment and tell me something about yourself.

I'm fascinated at the prospect.

Okay, I'm NWexican, one of the not so fascinating USA peeps. I have actually been perusing your blog for a couple of years now. I came to you from Steve the world traveling mexpatriate. I am not retired yet but will be in less than five years and am desperate to travel Mexico. I love reading your stuff.

Hi Babs: Well I'm from Litchfield, Connecticut...I've been a follower for a few years now...I discovered your blog and several others after reading an AARP article about living in Mexico. I did visit San Miguel for a week, taking the St. Paul's Episcopal Church tour during Day of The Dead week in 2009. I want to come and live there, I know for sure and am busy trying to make that happen. Love the new look of your blog. Susan P. Litchfield, CT

I've been reading your blog for a couple of years. I found it through Steve or Felipe - can't remember which. I've tried to leave comments a couple of times but have been unsuccessful. Thought I'd try again in the new format.

After my first couple of trips to Mexico I got to wondering what it was like to live in Mexico. I started exploring the internet and somehow or other came across your blog. I really do not remember the path I took. It has been wonderful to read and given me lots of insights. Thanks for taking the time to share your life.

We love your blog and the way you live life with such gusto. A good example for your readers to get off their duffs and engage life!

Posting comments is the difficult part for us non-robots.

You know me - at least as a long time reader ;-) I like the new layout and colors.

I HATE those crazy letter verification systems however.

Calypso - I don't know how to turn that darn thing off. When Steve gets back from his cruise, I'll ask him if he knows. I certainly never turned it on! Drats.........

I have commented a few times, never officially said "Hi! I live in Mexico City with my American/Chilango family ... We moved here this year from the Midwest in the States" . Now you know this stat! Not as cool as Russia, but hey... Kinda your neighbor! (country wise)

Hi Tricia - I read about you and your family. Thanks for commenting and I DO want to keep up with you.

Rick, I'm trying to find out how to get that stupid thing off the comment section where you have to type in those letters. Hang in there.......Thanks for writing!

Babs I think I have been reading your blog since you started it. I used to worry about you when you didn't post. Now I know you are pretty tough. It's your up-beat attitude and the way you notice beauty in all the corners that keeps me coming back.

Christine - Thanks so much for reading.......and thanks for putting up with me, ha. I've looked at your profile and an atty from California must know "tough". Just kidding.

I turned off the word verification for about a week and suddenly got tons of SPAM that I have to moderate. Don't get it on my Wordpress blog but Blogger must be an easy target

Babs said...

Well heck. I was going to find out how to turn it off but then, I guess, I'll get those pesky chinese hieroglyphics again. Bummer.....

Babs, I have been reading your Blog for several years and really enjoy it. I live in a suburb of Dallas.
We plan on moving to San Miguel when we retire in a few years. We travel there 1-2 times a year presently.
I enjoy your blog because it gives me a glimpse of what my life will be like when I live there. It just can't get there fast enough for me!

Black Rock, Connecticut checking in here: I love checking my stats, too, but the Russian readers are normally spammers, or possibly spam-bots -- automated systems to drop links to their own websites into your comments area.

I love checking my visitors logs, too, when I go under the hood of my Yucatan blog. But the Russian readers? I typically link them to spammers, trying to sell gold watches or diet pills (or worse) through my comments. It's satisfying to find a legitimate reader, though, from some isolated city somewhere, has been clicking through your blog for 45 minutes.

Black Rock Connecticut - what a lovely sounding place - I'm as excited about hearing from you as seeing the Russians on the stats. Seriously, thanks for writing.
